About And Caring For The Peace Lily Plant
The peace lily is a lovely, tropical, perennial flowering plant often given as a sympathy gift, but it a nice gift idea for just
about any occasion including a friend's birthday, housewarming wishes, new office or get well sentiments.
The natural habitat of the peace lily flowering plant includes the warm, shady floors of warm tropical jungles. They love
shaded light conditions and a slightly moist soil. Consequently, caring for them is actually easy, they do well in office
environments under florescent lighting and do best in bright, natural, yet filtered light. Watering is somewhat easy too, but some
guidelines should be followed for optimal plant health. The peace lilly plant likes evenly moist soil, preferably moderately moist,
if the soil is allowed to dry out or become too soggy the plant will not fare well. Peace lilies are not wild about chlorine either,
so it is best to let the water sit out overnight or to use a bottled water source. Keeping leaves clean and a monthly dose of replenished fertilized soil
is also helpful.
Peace lilies are on the list of plants toxic to pets so you'll want
to be careful and keep them out of harms way.
