About The Easter Lily
The popular Easter lily is a longiflorum lilly featuring
a beautiful white trumpet, usually sold at Easter time as a flowering plant
in a basket with a bow.
The easter lily was not actually introduced as an "Easter" celebration flower until the later 1800's where it
became popular for Easter celebrations due to it's early spring appearance, elegant beauty and symbolic white color.
In Christian religions today, the Easter Lily represents beauty, purity,
holiness and the new life of Jesus after he rose from the dead on Easter day.
The Easter lily is considered a holiday flower selection and
is specially cultivated to bloom in spring during the Easter holiday, availability is
often restricted to two weeks around Easter. Look for a nice selection here around that time next year.
