A Little History On The Alstromeria Lily Of The Incas
The alstromeria lily is popular as an accent flower with florists and is said to be symbolic of devotion.
Alstromeria are usually long lasting as
cut flowers and are often streaked or spotted with dark colors or accents.
The peruvian lily was brought to Europe by the Swedish Consul of Spain,
Kias Alstroemer in the mid 1700's and aptly named for him by the French botanist Carlus Linnaeus.
